However, Yeoh's manager, who got in contact with her on April 27, Monday, released an official statement regarding the actress' status. The manager expressed gratitude to the public for their concern over Yeoh and Todt's welfare.
Yeoh also explained that she and Todt were in their hotel room when the earthquake happened, also sharing that they were immediately evacuated. Yeoh assured the public that she and her fiancé did not suffer from any injury following the unfortunate events in Nepal.
Furthermore, the 'Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon' star shared that she is blessed to have made it home with Todt. She also wished for the victims well and expressed her concern over those who are still trapped as a result of the earthquake.
She explained that she still feels nervous whenever she thinks of the tragedy. "We stayed in the open space for many hours and we were not allowed to enter the hotel anymore," Yeoh recounted. "We felt really fearful when we waited for the latest updates and my phone was also spoilt."
The actress further explained that when they were allowed to return to the hotel to pack their luggage, they all saw that even the interior was badly damaged.
On the other hand, when she was asked by the media about her planned wedding date with Todt, she immediately dropped the question, and smartly replied that the situation in Nepal is of utmost importance and that it is her greatest concern at the moment.
