Dan Brown's "Inferno," the third movie after "The Da Vinci Code" and "Angels & Demons" that uses the same main character, the symbologist, Robert Langdon played by Tom Hanks has started filming in Italy. Produced and directed again by Ron Howard, the behind-the-scenes photos in their set in Venice were shared by Howard on Twitter. One photo shows Tom Hanks wearing a black suit and sporting a black eye while holding a camera beside Howard. The caption filled with hashtags suggested that it was Day One of the "Inferno" film production in the canals of Venice, Italy.

Another photo shows Howard with crew members on the shooting location, captioning his photo with "And so it begins" indicating that the photo was shot moments before the first camera shoot.
"Inferno" is set to be released on October 14, 2016. Based on Dan Brown's novel of the same title, it follows the Harvard symbologist, Robert Langdon, who had awakened with amnesia in an Italian hospital. Sienna Brooks, portrayed by Felicity Jones, joins Langdon to help him recover his memories and both try to prevent a madman from releasing a deadly plague, connected to Dante's 14th century poem about the nine circles of hell, titled "Inferno."
"Inferno," filled with imageries of classic art, secret passageways, and futuristic science, is Brown's fourth book in the Robert Langdon series, following "Angels & Demons," "The Da Vinci Code," and "The Lost Symbol." Turning the third, "The Lost Symbol" into a movie was skipped by Sony Pictures due to screenplay problems. David Koepp, who also wrote "Angels & Demons", will be writing the screenplay for "Inferno".
Other stars featured in the movie are Omar Sy as Christoph Bruder, Sidse Babett Knudsen as Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, Irrfan Khan as Harry Sims, and Ben Foster, whose role is yet to be revealed, is also slated to appear.
In 2005, TIME Magazine named Brown as one of the "100 Most Influential People in the World." His books have renewed interest in classic art, early Christian history, and secret societies.
