Hong Kong veteran actor Adam Cheng claims he has no knowledge of his daughter, Joyce Cheng's financial problems.
During an interview with a local media outlet in January of this year, Joyce shared to the public that there was a time when she had to struggle with only $26 HKD or around $4.50 USD on her bank account after her late mother prevented her from taking her inheritance before she turned 35 years old.

Months after the interview, the media questioned the 68-year old actor's reaction to his daughter's revelations regarding her financial hardships to which he answered that he was not aware of such issues that Joyce had to go through.
Furthermore, the actor sadly added, "Why didn't she approach me for help?"
On the other hand, recently, there had been rumors which claimed that Adam is a hen-pecked husband whose assets were under the total control of his second wife, Koon Jing Wah, leading to speculations that he could not have helped Joyce if she had approached him.
In addition to the rumors, there were speculations that the actor felt sorry for Koon since she had to endure being tagged as the third party who came between Adam and his late wife Lydia Cheng, so he allegedly acceded to Koon's requests and allowed her to be in control of his assets.
This issue, however, has not been confirmed nor denied to date.
Back in 1988, Adam divorced his wife Lydia Cheng, leaving the eight-month old Joyce under the latter's care and got married to Koon the following the year and had two daughters.
According to reports, the actor, who started his career in the entertainment business in the 1970s, earned an estimated amount of $500 million HKD, his investments over the years included. However, it is said that, with the exception of some properties which Adam and Koon conjugally own, the rest of the former's assets are allegedly under his wife's care.
