According the previous reports, the manager was accompanying some of the band members at the airport's parking lot after returning from a concert in Nanjing, China, when the fan approached and tried to take photos of the members.

The manager allegedly hit the fan on the head with his hand which caused her to hit her head against the camera she was holding. The fan is said to have sustained an injury to the head, an apart from that, the unnamed fan also reportedly suffered from a neck injury which needed to be treated in the hospital for two weeks.

EXO's manager dismissed the accusations. He admitted seeing the fan at the airport, but denied the allegations that he had assaulted her. The manager stated, "I did not assault her or inflict any type of injury on her."

However, Kim Seong Jin, the presiding judge decided against EXO's manager, taking into consideration the injuries that the fan obtained as well as other evidences which allegedly proved the assault charges.

The judge came to a ruling on the case filed against EXO's manager, who received a fine of 1 million KRW (approximately $936 USD).

On the other hand, band managers under SM Entertainment were brought under the spotlight several times for the same issue, leading to speculations that the company is not training their managers well.

The same incident happened in 2012 at Gimpo Airport when EXO's manager was caught hitting a fan who was taking photos of the group.
