Jenner, who has been charged for being "negligent, careless and reckless" was sued for wrongful death. . In the lawsuit, Redmond and Howe claim that Jenner was negligent when he was driving and collided with their stepmother's car. According to the suit, the incident has caused them to suffer enormous damages. The lawsuit however did not specify the amount of damages they are seeking.
According to police, the fatal accident that occurred in Malibu on the Pacific Coast Highway on Feb. 7, found Jenner to be driving a Cadillac Escalade and was towing an off-road vehicle on Malibu's Pacific Coast Highway when he rear-ended the Lexus driven by Howe. Howe had stopped due to a Prius that had stopped in front of it. When it was hit by Jenner, the Lexus spun and veered into oncoming traffic and was struck head-on by a Hummer. Kim Howe was pronounced dead on the scene. Following the crash, Jenner had expressed his sympathies for the family. After the accident, Jenner was caught on camera in the scene wearing sunglasses and a baseball cap apparently unhurt. He was eventually driven away in a police car.
According to James Fox, an attorney who specializes in motor vehicle crashes and vehicle defect cases, Jenner may be found legally culpable because vehicles on the California highway must move at a certain speed that will enable him to stop in any traffic condition.
Just last week, Bruce Jenner made headlines when he revealed that he is transitioning from into a female in his 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer.
Jenner was an Olympic sports hero in 1976 when he set the record for decathlon. His marriage to former Kris Kardashian made him a household name with their family's reality TV series "Keeping Up with the Kardashians."
