Despite pleas for her unborn baby's life, Tom Greer shot and killed the woman who he caught burglarizing his home in the upmarket Bixby Knolls neighborhood.

The 80-year old Greer said that a man and woman robbed his Long Beach home on Tuesday night and that after showing them his revolver, the couple fled. Greer managed to shoot the woman as she ran away.

The cops have identified the duo as 26-year old Gus Adams and 28-year old Andrea Miller.

Greer said that he doesn't regret killing Miller, whom he shot at twice.

"She says, 'Don't shoot me, I'm pregnant! I'm going to have a baby!' And I shot her anyway," Greer shared.

The elderly Greer said that he found the couple ransacking his home and that the two tackled him.

Greer said he fell to the ground during the struggle and the duo continued to pillage the house, rummaging through his safe.

Despite the ruckus, Greer was able to pocket his .22-caliber Smith & Wesson revolver.

Greer narrated, "I come back and they see me with a gun, and they run."

While Adams was able to run away and leave his partner-in-crime, Greer found Miller stumbling in an alley behind his house. That's when he shot her as she pleaded for her life.

"I shot her twice, she best be dead," Greer added.

Greer admitted that it was the first time he had ever shot anyone, but that he wouldn't hesitate to do it again if anyone attempts to rob his house a second time.

He said that Miller's death will hopefully leave her accomplice with a burden that he will have to live with for the rest of his life. Adams has just been arrested.

Donning an arm sling, Greer told a reporter that he was going to the hospital for the treatment of his shoulder and collarbone injury.

Greer is currently being investigated for the shooting.
