One of the most-awaited trailers has been released today. "Fifty Shades of Grey" lived up to fans expections but has been slammed by different organizations with negative reviews of the movie and trailer.
Just a re-cap, the book was about this girl, Anastasia Steel, who is an introvert and shies away from adventures. Everything changes when she meets Christian Grey, a businessman with a very kinky and erotic side. Grey and Steel hit it off but Grey is hesitant since Steel is very inexperienced.

Grey has a very different view when it comes to making love. S&M is involved and basically, Steel will soon be in one heck of a ride with Grey. Grey and Steel help each other to break away from their past selves. Steel then finds out about Grey's dangerous fetish. Steel finds out about his secret and is willing to welcome it into her world.
So, what do organizations say about the teaser?
Non-profit organization Morality in Media comments on this and says that the preview is deceiving the public. Why? Because the trailer has romanticized and normalized sexual violence. Morality in Media released a statement describing the relationship between Steel and Grey as an abuse of power. It also shows female inequality and coercion. It basically glamourizes violence against women.
They also added that the trailer sends out a dangerous statement since it shows that men can be in that kind of relationship making it look as if it is what women really want. As for the women, it gives them the wrong impression that they should be obedient just to please violent and controlling men.
The organization posted a question asking: "Is this really the kind of relationship we want our daughters, relatives, and friends willingly entering to? Do we really want our sons to become Christian Greys, practicing a violent masculinity that degrades men as well?"
The watchdog is known for giving criticisms regarding any form of sexual violence including porn ads.
