The success run at Beijing International Film Festival indicates the growing investor interest in the Chinese Film Industry.
Can it finally be looked upon as a profit making option?
The Chinese Film industry has been in existence for several decades, delivering some really popular movies; however, of late, an increasing number of international, as well as local, financial companies are showing interest in the potential of the Chinese movies. At the recently concluded Beijing International Film Festival, the Chinese movie industry had all the reason to celebrate as they raked in more than 2.2 billion dollars for signing thirty five different projects. Such massive figures are clearly a positive sign indicating the massive growth potential of the industry and therefore attracting investors galore! Even companies like Shanghai Sova Capital are now warming up to the idea of making money by investing in movies.

According to a report on Yibada, the idea of investing in movies is still relatively new to the Chinese market but there are several companies that are already doing the job in Hollywood movies and reaping rich profits. One such company is Film Finances that came into existence almost sixty years ago and has since then associated itself to some of the biggest hits of Hollywood. The most recent one being the super hit movie was "Kingsman: The Secret Service" released in 2015 that went to earn a good amount of money across the globe.
Citing the industrialization of cinema in China, Film Finances forayed has also made its foray into the mainland with April Ye leading the team as the CEO. However, according to reports, only time will be able to tell, whether or not, the Chinese movies live up the promise of potential that they are now showing. Even a report on CRIENGLISH claimed that there are many international as well as domestic companies that are keen to come to China and establish themselves as investors in the movie industry.
