Mindy Kaling, 35, tweeted the cover for her anticipated second book, "Why Not Me?" on Tuesday. The book chronicles the events that happened in her life after her first book, "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns), was released in 2011. 

"Why Not Me" follows Kaling's search for excitement and contentment from an Indian-American perspective. The book tackles love, friendship, and self-worth amidst the glamorous world of Hollywood where 'no one likes you.

An actress, writer, comedian, and producer, Kaling is widely known for role as Mindy Lahiri in the television sitcom "The Mindy Project," which she also wrote and produced. 

Kaling's debut book "Is Everybody Hanging Out Without Me?" in 2011 became a New York Times bestseller. It is a collection of humorous essays inside Hollywood's lifestyle and culture from the viewpoint of an Indian-American.

Some of the essays in the book are "How to Look Spectacular: A Starlet's Confessions," which provided secret tips on how to look spectacular on camera; "Player" tells how Kaling's lover replaced her with a younger model that had matching bangs; "Unlikely Leading Lady," where she muses on why Americans put so much importance to how an actress weighs; and  "Soup Snakes," where Kaling reveals her weird relationship with an ex-boyfriend.  

Mindy's funny essays often turn anxieties into humorous anecdotes that people can relate to. According to her website, her next book will be another collection of hilarious and insightful essays that are deeply personal where she also explains her often use of the phrase, "Why not me?" which has become some kind of a motto in her life.  And according to her, so much has happened since she published her first book in 2011 such as her show, "The Mindy Project," her mother's passing, a lot of her friends getting married, and being a first-time homeowner.
