Lionel Messi scored two out of three goals in the first leg of the Champions League semifinals, and those two goals were as clean cut as crystal.

The FC Barcelona player first scored at the 77th minute. By the 80th minute, his quick dribbling skills left Bayern Munich's Jerome Boateng flailing on the ground before finally killing it by launching the ball over Manuel Neuer, giving them a 2-0 advantage.

To add insult to injury, the unstoppable forward assisted the goal of his Barca teammate Neymar Jr., ending the game with a 3-0 victory, as reported by Skysports.

The Internet exploded later, but not for the FC Barcelona win; netizens reacted to the apparent coma-inducing foot movement the football player did before the goal. Memes that gave praise to Messi or mocked Boateng have been aggregated by FoxSports, with some reporters exclaiming that his move could be considered illegal for the sheer fact that it was heart-stopping.

Lionel Messi is a porefessional football player who plays for FC Barcelona. He plays forward and is the captain for his home country, the Argentina football team.

Twitter users from both inside and outside the world of football went on a rampage, giving the young footballer praise for his god-like feat and, as Goal reported, some even invoking that Messi has surpassed the skill of the great Maradona. Personalities from different sports showed their support as well, such as Jeremy Maclin, Brandon McCarthy, and Kobe Bryant.

Considered one of the best football players to set foot on earth, Diego Maradona said it himself that he considers Messi as his successor. During his prime, the former Argentina player played for his home country in the World Cup four times and led them to a victory in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico. Though Messi has yet to earn a World Cup win, it is a different story with the Champions League. If he keeps this up, Argentina will surely have another chance after their devastating loss to Germany in 2014.
