The sprawling exhibition is expected to be attended by Hollywood celebs and covers three floors dedicated to showing the Chinese culture and its connect with the global fashion circuit
The spirit of the Orient is seen to inspire fashion designers across the globe and American experts are no exceptions to this rule. The MET Gala to be hosted early next week is a grand event that celebrates the exhibition hosted by the Metropolitan Museum Of Art during springtime in New York.

This year's exhibition had a Chinese theme. Through its artwork, designs and innovative interiors, the organizers used different facets of Chinese culture to decorate the place. The entire set-up covers a massive area that is spread over three floors. The core purpose of the exhibition, which is one of the most awaited events of the fashion industry, was to highlight the Chinese connect to the global fashion circuit.
Reports on Washingpost quote curator of the museum, Andrew Bolton who said that the idea of using the exhibition is based on helping the fashion conscious crowd understand the Chinese culture and the impact of Orientalism on art and fashion. The exhibition also consisted of artworks and apparels by acclaimed artists as well as designer respectively.
The grand gala was held on Monday and celebrated the theme of the exhibition. It was a fundraising event attended by several well-known celebs including Lady Gaga, Dakota Johnson, Rita Ora amongst many others.
Though the costume theme for the event was obviously Chinese, Fashionasta reported that there were many celebs who chose to ignore the theme completely when it came to picking the dress for the grand event. They seem to have chosen dresses inspired by the Asian culture but the spirit of the Orient was surely lacking putting them under scanner. Nevertheless, the event was a huge success.
