Macao residents will be paid thousands of Macanese Patacas in cash

According to Xinhua net on July 2nd, 2013 Macao Special Administrative Region Cash Sharing Plan implements officially on July 2nd. From that day on, each Macao permanent residents will be given 8,000-yuan Macau Patacas (MOP) in cash; non-permanent residents will be given 4,800-yuan MOP until September 13th. The expenditures for the Cash Sharing Plan will be more than 4.8 billion MOP in Macau government.
In order to let all Macao residents share the fruits of economic development, Macao Special Administrative Region has begun to implement the Cash Sharing Plan since 2008. In 2008, each Macao permanent residents were given 5,000-yuan MOP, and from that year on, the money will be given to Macao residents every year. But the specific amount will change from year to year based on the different situations of economic, inflation and government fiscal surplus. It is said there are two payment methods of the Cash Sharing Plan; one is to transfer the money from bank, and another is to send a check by mail. As for special cases, the Social Welfare Bureau of Macao will handle those issues.
2013 Macao Special Administrative Region Cash Sharing Plan came into force on May 14th. According to the arrangement, all the residents with a valid or renewable Macao SAR Resident Identity Card can get the money. This year, the Cash Share Plan will benefit approximately 570,000 permanent residents, and 68,000 non-permanent residents. Related expenditure of Macao government is about 4.885 billion MOP.
