Hollywood celeb couple Cody Simpson and Gigi Hadid officially announced their breakup, saying that they need to invest more time on their respective careers, E! News reports.

After calling it quits on May 2014 due to their busy schedules, then getting back into their relationship again, Simpson and Hadid have finally revealed that they have officially broken up.

A representative of Hadid told the media that the couple wanted each other to focus on building their own careers. The representative stated, "They love each other dearly and have split up in hopes that growing on their own paths will bring them together in the future."

Furthermore, the 20-year old model's spokesperson explained that the former couple do not harbor any hard feelings for each other and that they are "each other's biggest supporters."

During a recent interview with HuffPost Live, Simpson confessed that he and Hadid are currently experiencing jammed work schedules, but also explained that they are willing to make matters work out.

"We see each other more than you would expect because we're dedicated to making it work and it's not too stressful," Simpson said, adding that it had been hard for Hadid whose photos get taken all the time since she is a model.

On the other hand, Alli Simpson, Simpson's sister, also expressed that she loved Hadid for her brother and hoped for them to tie the knot in the future. Alli, who showed her support for the couple, stated that Simpson and Hadid seemed like they will get married and expressed, "They are so adorable. They bring out the best in each other."

In May 2014, Hadid confirmed that she and Simpson, whom she was dating for roughly a year then, called it quits, one of the reasons being their busy schedules. Back then, she revealed that she and Simpson were still the best of friends, stating that she 'loves him to death' and the same goes for Simpson.
