The Android 5.0 Lollipop has been running different devices for a long time now and others are now eyeing for a new OS, known as Android M.

According to Metro, Android M or Android 6.0 will reportedly be unveiled at the Google I/O developers conference, which is scheduled on May 28 and 29 at San Francisco.

Google has not yet released any details about it, however, other bloggers have started to give a name to the upcoming OS. According to reports, it might be Marshmallow, M&M, Muffin, Macaron, Milky Way, Mud Cake and Mars.

It can be noted that Google named its Android versions after a candy or a sweet, as we have seen Éclair, Cupcake, Froyo, Donut, Honeycomb, Gingerbread, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Ice Cream Sandwich and Lollipop.

Furthermore, Android Hackz has posted a concept video of Android M and shows lot of improvements, cited Android Pit.

According to the concept video, Android M might feature a new opening animation, new closing app animation, multi-window and quick reply feature.

The site added that it might feature a unified notification, which allow the users to received message from their PC, tablet and their smartphone. Also, the Smart Home on the Android M might come with a complete control to the users connected devices.

In addition, as security plays  big part to every user, he site expects that there will be a security improvement on the upcoming OS, noting that recently Google has introduced the "find my phone" feature to Chrome and the "kill switch" option for Android 5.1 users.

The site added that Android M might bring improvements to how the smartphone and smartwatch can interact as the competition is stiff with other competitors. According to reports, the Apple Watch has shipped about one million units, which are more than Android Wear devices did in the whole of 2015.

Moreover, according to latest report, the Android M might focus on Google Android Auto software and the functionality it may be built into upcoming cars as standard.

As for the release date, Android M release date might be on October or November as the Android KitKat has been released roughly around a year between the Android Jelly Bean and Lollipop update.

Meanwhile, its latest OS, the Android Lollipop, is available in 9.7 percent of Android devices as compared to the 39.8 percent for KitKat and 39.2 percent for Jelly Bean.
