"Age of Ultron" has made a total of $312.9 million  since it began showing in theaters stateside, making the film the second-fastest film to clear an easy $300 million locally. At $77.2 Million, it has the second-highest weekend earning, toppling Avatar's $75.6 million.

Worldwide, the film has earned an incredible $875.26 million even before it has opened its doors to viewers in China and Japan. "Avengers: Age of Ultron" opens in China on May 12, and it is looking to cross the $1 billion mark shortly afterward.

Aptly enough, "Age of Ultron" is just one of Marvel Studio's biggest box office hits in the previous years. The film ranks fourth in local box office leaders, behind "Iron Man" ($318m), "Guardians of the Galaxy" ($333m), "Iron Man 3" ($408m), and "The Avengers" ($623m).

The latest Avengers film starred some of the brightest stars in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye/Clint Barton, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury. The film also welcomed newcomers like Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch/Wanda Maximoff, Aaron Taylor-Johnson as Quicksilver/Pietro Maximoff, Paul Bettany as Vision, and James Spader as the voice of Ultron.

The rest of this weekend's top five box office movie hits are as follows:

2. "Hot Pursuit" ($13.3 million)

3. "The Age of Adaline" ($5.6 million)
