After weeks of no Ebola cases, World Health Organization (WHO) has confirmed that Liberia is now free from Ebola virus. There are no new reports of Ebola cases for the last 42 days which shows that they are able to stop the virus from spreading in the country.
Based on the statement given to BBC by President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, that Liberia succeeded in crossing the Rubicon and they would like to celebrate the collaborative effort to stem the virus. During the outbreak, a total death of 4,700 has been recorded in Liberia which is higher compared to other countries with the same case.

Since last year, over 11,000 people died in places across the region. For the neighboring places like Guinea and Sierra Leone, they still continue to fight against the virus and to stop it from having more casualties.
World Health Organization sets a 42-day span without new cases before they declare an Ebola free country- which is twice the maximum incubation period. So far, the last recorded death in Liberia happened last March 27. On a statement given by World Health Organization on Saturday they confirmed that, "The outbreak of Ebola Virus Disease in Liberia is over."
President Sirleaf is very happy while announcing a community celebration for everyone who fight against the Ebola virus and ended it with conclusion that Liberia is now a happy nation.
The whole country has been traumatized when an outbreak occured in the nation. But through a collective effort, Liberia is able to defeat the virus. Health centers promote awareness to people in the community and hand-washing stations are placed in designated area to stop the disease from spreading. If you have contact with sick people, washing your hands can prevent the spread of virus.
Slogans in different billboards serve as reminder about what's going on around like "Ebola is Real", "Don't be the next victim" and "Wash your hands don't touch." For some residence, the outbreak gives them a feeling of wartime in their country where dead bodies are brought by ambulance. Ebola outbreak has been one of the deadliest outbreak ever happened to their country's history.
