Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Belarus on Sunday and is scheduled to be there for three days. Needless to say, the host country has happily extended its hospitality to the Chinese premier. However, China and Belarus have been trusted allies of each other for the past several years. With this visit, the Chinese premier is confident of strengthening the ties and exploring more partnership options in other categories.
According to reports on Xinhuanet, the Chinese premier also talked about combining their strategic and technical strengths for the development of the much touted Silk Route Economic Belt that would majorly boost the trade ties between the two countries. He also talked about the China-Belarus Industrial Park and its significance on the trade map of the region. The reports on Yahoo points out that Belarus's economy was heavily dependent on Russia; however, the recent dive in oil prices has led to the stagnation of the Russian economy which has had an effect on its Belarusian counterpart. Therefore, Belarus has finally come out of its comfort zone and is now exploring the option of economic ties with other countries including China.
Meanwhile, China is expected to fuel Belarus's growth in infrastructure by mobilizing the funds from its country. The leaders are expected to sign the friendship treaty and go ahead with sealing several other deals that will strengthen the economic ties between the two countries.
