Hollywood actress Jenifer Lawrence, best known for her role in "Hunger Games" series that has been a strong advocate of equal pay for actors and actresses, seems to have secured some victory finally!

Gender bias has been dominant in Hollywood for quite some time, with the male actors getting more money as compared to their female counterparts. Even in movies that were excessively female dominated, the actresses used to go back home being unsatisfied with their pay checks. Amongst the few female actresses who have been voicing their opinion against the gender bias is Lawrence, who has always supported the cause in several ways. Looks like the actress has finally secured a personal victory with reports on Metro confirming that Lawrence will be paid 20 million dollars, which is almost two times the amount being paid to her male co-star Chris Patt in an upcoming movie titled "Passengers."

The actress hit headlines when she publicly raised her voice against the underpayment that she received for "American Hustle." According to Nzherald, Lawrence's movie went on to earn an Oscar nomination but the actress was quite frank about her discontent with regards to the money paid. The underpayment issue was highlighted after a series of mails concerning the conversation between Lawrence and the makers of the movie were brought to the notice of the public.

The news also indicates that Lawrence growth graph is doing considerably well. For an actress who started out with a measly 3,000 dollars per week in a role for a low budget drama titled "Winter's Bone," the lady is said to surely has come a long way. Fans believe that the lady's roaring success is a result of her critically acclaimed performance in some really high profile movies. The report also indicates that Lawrence was paid a whooping one million dollars for her role in "Hunger Games."
