Huawei is about to embark on a great adventure with Goggle, as the Chinese tech and mobile giant is unveiled as the next manufacturer of the 2015 Nexus 5.

The year is 2015, and the time is nigh for a new Google phone. Huawei, one of the biggest phone manufacturers from China, has been slated as the next producer of the pure-Android phone as a predecesor to both the Nexus 5 and Nexus 6 from 2013 and 2014, respectively.

Jiutang Pan, a Chinese analyst who specializes in the electronics industry in China and who has made some accurate leaks in the past, has revealed that the device might carry the Helio X20 system from MediaTek on top of a 2,560 x 1,440 Quad HD and a Snapdragon 810 processor, as reported by Android Authority.

If this proves true, Huawei will carry over the torch from Motorola, makers of the Nexus 6, who preceded LG, who made the Nexus 5.

However, Huawei has been known to not care about resolutions, and as Digital Trends reported, LG is still a big contender since the Korean brand has already launched their flagship phone with similar specs, the LG G4, with Google working very closely with its development.

With the name itself still up in the air, there is still no assurance of what brand will carry the Nexus name yet. The annual developer conference is coming soon, and PC Advisor suggests that the upcoming unit will be called Nexus 8, with respect to the fact that it is the only number available, unless they start appending letters to their model numbers. Overall, summer will see a new Nexus unit, be it an update on the 7 and 9 tablets or the 5 and 6 phones, and if Huawei plays its cards right, Android fanboys should be willing to get them at whatever price point.
