AT&T Unveils Trek HD Tablet For $50 On Contract; When Will It Be Available?

The AT&T has unveiled its first tablet - the Trek HD - that runs on Android Lollipop operating system.
According to the official website of AT&T, the Trek HD is available for $50 on contract or $200 over a 20-month instalment plan, while the regular price of the device is $199.99. The AT&T Trek HD has an 8-inch HD display with a compact design and a resolution of 1280 x 800. It weighs 12 ounces and has a dimension of 8.35 x 4.95 x 0.35 inches.

The tablet is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.6 GHz quad-core and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop operating system. It has 1 GB of RAM, internal memory storage of up to 16 GB and expandable memory storage of up to 32 GB via microSD.
As for the camera, the AT&T Trek HD has 5MP auto focus rear camera and 2MP front-facing camera. It has 4,060 mAh battery capacity, which lasts up to eight hours of continuous. The said tablet has earned three stars (out of five) on the AT&AT Eco-Rating 2.0 system.
The tablet is preloaded with apps from AT&T such as AT&T Family Map, Keeper, Games, AT&T AllAccess, AT&T Mail, AT&T Locker and AT&T Mobile Locate, YPmobile.
Moreover, the device has a one-touch toggle hotspot, connectivity with Wi-Fi or 4G LTE and Google productivity suite. With Google Suite, the user can create, edit and collaborate with a pre-installed collection of Google productivity apps that are located on the home screen. The user can share and convert their documents as Microsoft, PowerPoint, Word or Excel files using the device.
It also feature a multi-user profiles, which allow the user to create multiple user accounts and can share their tablet with other members of the family or even friends without giving them an access to personal photos, email and apps.
Meanwhile, AT&T is not only the one who released their own device, it should be noted that Verizon had released the Ellipsis 8 in 2014, which is equipped with Android 4.4 KitKat, battery size from 5,000 mAh to 4,060 mAh and 1280 x 800 screen resolution, cited ZDNet.
The Trek HD is available starting today, May 12 and interested customers can purchased the device online while the tablet will hit in stores starting on May 15, according to Phone Arena.
