Apple released the third and latest beta version of its iOS 8.4 to developers with the label build 12H4098c. The tech giant is likely to release the completed version of iOS 8.4 after, or just in time for its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), where it will unveil its new services.

Like its predecessors, iOS 8.4 Beta 3 focuses on a revamped music server, bringing both function and UI changes to the music playback app. Many feel that this might be the precursor to the arrival of a new iTunes music server at the WWDC. Moreover, Apple is also looking to release a revamped Beats Music and iTunes Radio.

TechCrunch postulated that Apple plans to debut its streaming service at the WWDC, probably during a keynote address which could be held on the conference's opening day. Unfortunately, the new music app seen in recent beta releases does not clearly mention the release of a full streaming service just yet. However, what consumers will get instead is a new look and feel, a persistent mini-player, as well as a plethora of new playlist features and easy access to iTunes Radio. Thankfully, the betas seem to be doing their job of refining iOS 8.4's music service and taking care of any bugs found.

With its new music service integration, Apple hopes to upgrade its music server to eventually rival Spotify on a level-playing field. Over the past few years, Beats Music has fallen way behind the big players in music streaming like Pandora and Spotify.

Listed below are some of the most prominent changes in the iOS 8.4 Beta 3:

  •  User interface tweaks to the iPad and iPhone's iTunes Radio section
  • Music search history now includes past local searches
  • New iPhone logo shows music stored offline
  • Now-playing screen opens when song is played back
