Avengers Tops North America Box Office

According to the Rentrak, The Avengers sequel "Age of Ultron" has topped the North America  box office, earning ticket sales of $77.2 million.

This recent offering of the big screen, aside from earning $77.2 million in just the United States and Canada, greatly earned an estimated amount of $875 million worldwide, in just a span of three weeks. These figures are coming from the Exhibitor Relations.

The new release "Hot Pursuit," a comedy movie about a cop and a drug lord's widow while being chased by wrongdoers, was considering this Marvel comics-based movie the very serious competitor among other movies.  Hot Pursuit garnered $13.3 million and $18 million worldwide, giving it the right to grab the second place. The Rotten Tomatoes even gave it a score of just 6 percent, and calling it as a movie that is almost painful to watch.

No other film made it possible to earn beyond $10 million aside from the abovementioned films. This simply shows how Avengers gets to be the blockbuster of this season.

"The Age Of Adaline" now brags the third spot, earning $5.6 mllion. It's about a miracle that occurs to a woman. She stops aging after she was caught in a traumatic car accident.

Of course, the "Furious 7" which is the most recent sequel of the Fast and Furious films gets the fourth spot with $5.3 million. "Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2" and "Ex Machina" take the fifth and sixth spot respectively, also respectively earning $5.2 and $3.5 million.

"Home" occupies the seventh spot with $3 million, "Women in Gold" on the eighth with $1.6 million and Disney's "Cinderella" and the horror trend "Unfriended" on ninth and tenth spots respectively, also respectively earning $1.57 and $1.4 million.
