On the expert gamers MRI result, experts found an increase in grey matter which is a major component of the central nervous system. Additionally, the MRI results also revealed an increase in functional connectivity especially between the sensorimotor and attentional networks.

What the new study reveals is that, being good at video games has a significant effect in the development of cognitive functions. Additionally, it also enhances a person's grasp into minor details and also helps to develop the ability to learn and discover new things.

However, the most interesting part of the study is that the researches uses action video games in their study. Contrary to this new clinical breakthrough, it is a widely accepted fact that action video games play an integral part in turning gamers into violent individuals.

Several clinical studies in the past has tackled the effect, whether negative or beneficial, of video games to not only gamers' cognitive development but also to their overall behavior. While many institutions correlate action video games into gamers' attitude towards violence, no clinical study has proved that this is true.
