In an announcement by military officials, the United States military and allies confirmed they had conducted 18 strikes over Syria and Iraq, citing the growing threat of terrorist groups in the region.
Military force led by America and its allies claimed responsibility for 18 strikes conducted over a period of two days in Syria and Iraq, respectively. Giving information about the strikes that were planned in detail, American military said that the air strikes started Sunday morning, with Syria being the first target. The strike lasted through Monday morning and were aimed at destroying the Islamic militant strong holds in the region. The reports were confirmed by Yahoo. Giving further details, the reports also claimed that in the Syrian strikes, six were targeted to Al Hasakah and therefore were successful in destroying the militant bunker in the region.

U.S. Military is looking at the move as a major victory since Al Hasakah was a major supply point for heavy guns and other machinery that the militant groups were actively using. With a major supply point being wiped off the map, American military is confident that it has struck the militant groups with a major blow leading to their setback. The targets struck in Iraq included Bayji, Fallujah, Haditha, Mosul, Ramadi and Sinjar.
Dailystar also confirmed that the list of targets in Iraq included Ar Raqqah and Koban, two places reported as centres for militant activity. The U.S. military congratulated its troops on the victory; however, it can be noted that American military and its allies have long been trying to combat the growing threat of terrorism in the region. The air strikes on Sunday and Monday were also a planned attack on the group that has been causing quite a nuisance to the law and order fabric in the region.
