"Half-Life 3" has never been mentioned officially by Valve however, industry experts have been hoping for the game's much awaited third installment to be for real. The end of "Half-Life 2" left many plot forums. Although, the lore was well-rounded out by an episodic sequence that ended in 2007, that story concluded with a death that gamers may have never seen before.

For all objectives and intentions, in 2007, it was clear that Valve needed to go back to the journey to the "Half-Life" universe soon. Youth Health reported that "Half-Life 3" was almost guaranteed on the way. Almost eight years later, though, release date has not been confirmed.

Yet, the details from ex-Valve staff that verifies early developments of the game present at some point in time. Mihn Le, "Counter-Strike" co-creator said that he had seen "Half-Life 3" concept images about 12 months ago. It was not labeled with that name particularly, but the photos he saw seemed like are for the "Half-Life" universe.

In latter part of 2013, NeoGAF users found the full list of staff in-charged for "Half Life 3." The list included the names of composers, lead series writers and design employees. Some writers from "Portal" were also included in the project.

Kotaku reported that those old leads are the strongest evidences fans have about "Half-Life 3." Recently, international retailers hint gamers by adding up product pages for the video game in their stores. Moreover, one Swedish store went as far as to state that "Half-Life 3" is scheduled for release in 2015, exclusively for PC.

In other "Half Life" news, speculation mill pursues that Valve may launch "Half-Life 2" as the product title for the HTC Vive Virtual Reality Headset. It is said that Valve is collaborating with HTC to sell it to the market; however, as for its release date, Valve remains mum about it.
