A change in pairings lifted the United States to a two-win, four-point score Friday at the LPGA tour's International Crown in Owings Mills, Maryland.

After losing two matches against Chinese Taipei Thursday, the United States changed their pairings as Lexi Thompson pairs off with Cristie Kerr and Stacy Lewis with Paula Creamer. They took on the Spanish armada of Belen Mozo, Beatriz Recari, Azahara Munoz and Carlota Ciganda to win both, giving USA four points in the tournament.

The win against Spain now ties them in second with Chinese Taipei with four points apiece in Pool A as Taipei lost both of its matches against Thailand who now has five points, leading the Pool.

"Obviously, we made the right decision," said Creamer who won 2-up along with Lewis against Munoz and Ciganda while the Kerr-Thompson pair won 3 and 2 against the Mozo-Recari duo.

Kerr said that she and Thompson had a lot of chemistry and they both played with a lot of heart.

USA will now play next Thailand Saturday while Chinese Taipei will go up against Spain.

In Pool B, Japan still remains on top with six points after the tandem of Mamiko Higa and Mika Miyazato defeated Australian team Minjee Lee and Karrie Web 3 and 2 while Ai Miyazato and Sakura Yokomine rallied from six holes down to tie the match against Katherine Kirk and Lindsey Wright.

South Korea places second in Pool B with four points while Sweden and Australia are last with three points apiece.

Japan will face South Korea and Sweden against Australia in the final day of better-ball play at the Caves Valley Golf Club.

The two top teams from both Pools plus the winner of the playoffs between the third place finishers will advance to the singles round Sunday for the International Crown title.
