Microsoft Surface Pro 4 Release Date Might Be In October; Device Expected To Come In Two Display Sizes

The most anticipated device, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4, release date is reportedly will happen in October.

The International Business Times reported that Microsoft was expected to share information to their upcoming device at the Build developer conference happened in San Francisco; however, the company did not give any details, but according to reports, Surface Pro 4 release date is in October, alongside with the debut of Windows 10.

Contradicting reports however indicates that Microsoft Surface Pro 4 release date might be in the month of May. As the company has not yet released any information about the release date of the device, the rumor should be taken with grain of salt.

As for the specs, according to Christian Today, the device might run on Windows 8.1 and will be upgraded to Windows 10 once the OS becomes available. The Surface Pro 4 is expected to come with two models, the 12-inch variant and the 14-inch model. The 14-inch variant will be powered by an Intel i5 and i7 processors and the 12-inch version will use an Intel Broadwell SoC chip.

Other reports have claimed that the Surface Pro 4 might be powered by Skylake chipset, which allows the battery life of the device to be boosted by approximately 30 percent as compared to Haswell chips. However, the said chip does not necessarily require fans, it is said that if this will be used on the upcoming device, Surface Pro 4 might be slimmer and the battery may definitely last longer.

Moreover, the tablet might come with 8MP rear camera, 3.5MP front-facing camera, which allows the user to take selfies and to make a video call or chats.

According to other reports, the device is expected to offer maximum of 1 TB internal storage capacity with a 16 GB of RAM. Also, the speculated models of the device are expected to render a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels. In addition, the new tablet offering of Microsoft might also feature a microUSB port, USB 3.0 port and other connectivity options.

As for the price, it is expected that the Surface Pro 4 will be priced higher than its predecessor.

It is worth noting that all of these are only rumors, and as of the writing, Microsoft has not yet released any official information about the device.
