The mystery behind Frida Kahlo's eccentric wardrobe were finally revealed. The photo are currently in display in her home in Mexico City.
Frida Kahlo is one of the famous artist known for her magnificent self-portrait, unique style and stunning eyebrows. As a child, Frida suffered from polio and later a bus accident in her younger years that caused her total pain for not being able to walk. Since then, she spent most of her time alone at home. She used her experiences as an inspiration and started painting her own self and become one of the early selfie artists. According to one of her interviews, being alone made her more familiar with her own self and not with other subject matter.

After she died, her husband Diego Rivera, who is also an artist decided to lock all her belongings in a bathroom of their home. He gave an instruction that no one should open this and it should remain sealed until 15 years after his death. He died in 1957 but it was only opened in year 2012, according to Hello Giggles.
Japanese photographer Ishiuchi Miyako has given a permission to take a photograph for each item inside the bathroom and the result is very significant images presenting Kahlo's life to us. Finally, Frida Kahlo's fans have a chance to see the artist's way of living. The items were first displayed in Mexico City at her home known as the blue house. The items are being exhibited in different museum around the world.
The items found in her belongings are old Revlon nail polish, gloves, swimsuit, vintage sunglasses, her shoes, indigenous apparel and regalia which she uses to mask her condition and other simple things with significant values. She even turned some of her medical equipment and cast into art. Her life full of pain and suffering are reflected on some of her paintings. After her accident, she created an iconic wardrobe that camouflage her physical ailments. Currently the photograph of Miyako is being displayed in Michael Hoppen Gallery from May 14 to July 12.
