One of Jay Chou's best friends, Will Liu, just recently revealed that Chou is sometimes forced to sleep sitting up due to the severity of his spinal disease.

Though many of the Taiwanese heartthrob's fans are aware that he suffers from an inflammatory disorder of the spine, only a few know how serious it can be up until "The Rooftop" star made the public aware of Chou's sickness.

The 42-year old actor spoke out about details of Chou's spine disease and revealed that Hannah Quinlivan's husband often experiences difficulty in lying down, leaving him with no choice but to sleep in a sitting position.

Will added that when he visits his best friend at his home, it takes him ten minutes to simply walk from his bed to open his bedroom door because the pain prevents "The Green Hornet" star from walking normally and forces him to walk really slowly.

Will also took the opportunity to express his concern over Chou's spinal inflammation disease and how it might affect his successful, long-running career. Apparently, when the disease acts up, Chou becomes unable to "perform like he usually does," and relies on pain killers to help him get through his various shows and concerts.

Liu himself made a promise to help out his friend and because he is a big fan of working out, he came up with a few workout regimes for Chou to help him ease the pain on his back.

Some fans were glad to learn about Will's revelation about their idol's spine disease and even sent Chou messages of support. However, others were disappointed with Liu, as they felt like it is not his place to disclose such personal details.
