During the San Diego Comic-Con last Saturday, fans got their first glimpse of Gal Gadot in all her Wonder Woman glory.

Wonder Woman no longer wore the iconic red-and-gold bustier and blue bottoms.  Instead, Gadot wore a modern take on the outfit - a fitted bronze one-piece, complemented by thigh-high boots.

Instead of the colorful costume that gave the character a retro-comic feel, the new Wonder Woman stands amidst a dark background, brooding, sensing some impending dark force.

The official photo was shown to the public during Gadot's surprise onstage appearance with "Batman v Superman" stars Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill during the Warner Bros. panel.

Zack Snyder, the director of the highly anticipated superhero flick, tweeted Gadot's photo with the caption "Great time at #SDCC this year! #WonderWoman #DCTrinity."

Snyder had previously tweeted the second photo of Ben Affleck as Batman last Thursday.

Many fans took to Twitter to send compliments regarding Wonder Woman's new, edgier look. So far, comments seem to indicate that the majority of fans love the new outfit.

Michael Edwards, one of the fans who tweeted, posted "DC: "Here's a dimly lit pic of Wonder Woman with a desaturated version of her costume!" You are gritty and dark now, we get it.

During its initial stages, the new movie got some major slack regarding the director's casting choices, especially when it came to Affleck as Batman, Godot as Wonder Woman and Jesse Eisenberg of "Social Network" fame as Superman's arch-nemesis, Lex Luthor.

Gadot is a 29-year old model and actress from Israel.

At the age of 19, she won the title of Miss Israel. After losing the Miss Universe pageant, Gadot joined the Israeli Army while working as a model at the same time.

She has been featured on the covers of Cosmopolitan, Bride Magazine and FHM.

Before "Batman v Superman", Gadot was known for her role as Gisele Harabo in the "Fast and Furious" film franchise.
