In China, "leisure class" is used to describe rich Chinese members of society who enjoy flaunting their wealth.
In April, two members of this leisure class was driving a Ferrari and a Lamborghini that allegedly collided with each other; however, despite driving expensive cars, both of them are unemployed.

Other members of the Chinese society have conflicting views about them as it states that those belonging to this privileged class are often treated almost like royalty but then they are also hated for their propensity to show-off their material possessions.
People believes that the leisure class of China has "yet to achieve the real high level of taste," but as soon as the leisure class achieves that then it could identify its place in the Chinese society, said reports.
It will also be prudent for the Chinese leisure class to serve as a positive role model for the rest of the population rather than merely showing-off.
It is said that there is an incident that happened in the Henan province where a group of wealthy dog owners successfully halted the transportation of dogs destined for the slaughter house. The dog meat vendor has the necessary permit to transport and sell dog meat; however, the police did not apprehend the dog owners since most of them belong to the leisure class.
These kinds of actions, although illegal in this case, tends to give members of the leisure class a sense of respectability and admiration from the rest of the population. Still, in its present form, the leisure class is already changing the Chinese society in aspects regarding social values and culture, said reports.
