Meet Vladimir Putin: Recently Divorced Father of Two Lovely Daughters

Russian President Vladimir Putin is the most hated man on earth.
The one favorite word used to describe the Russian dictator is "evil." U.S. presidential contender Hillary Clinton portrayed him as "arrogant."
In 2011, U.S. Vice President Joe Biden told Putin to his face that he (Putin) had no "soul."

German President Angela Merkel was even more scathing; she described Putin as "out of touch with reality," which is polite diplomatic speak for crazy.
This after Putin engineered Russia's undeclared invasion and annexation of Crimea last March. That event ignited the current crisis in Eastern Ukraine which outraged the world when a Russian-made surface-to-air missile fired by Russians destroyed Malaysia Airlines Flight MH17 two weeks ago, killing 298 innocent persons.
Lost in this maelstrom of hate directed at Putin is the overlooked fact that this man is a man just like many other men -- with the same personal problems.
In 2013, Putin finalized his divorce from his wife of 30 years, Lyudmila Shkrebneva. Putina admitted that Putin beat her and had love affairs while they were living in what was then East Germany from 1985 to 1990.
It was rumored that Putin had fathered an illegitimate child in East Germany. During his stay in East Germany, Putin was a spy who worked for the Soviet era spy agency, the KGB or the Komitet gosudarstvennoy bezopasnosti (Committee for State Security).
Putin speaks fluent German, one of the reasons Merkel is his favorite world leader.
Putin is a ladies' man and has been linked by newspapers with many other women. Among his alleged lovers are the lovely Russian spy Anna Chapman who was unmasked as a deep cover agent in the U.S. and Alina Kabayeva, Russia's second most successful rhythmic gymnast.
The Putins announced the end of their marriage in June 2013 but it was only last April during the Crimean annexation crisis that the Kremlin confirmed their divorce was final.
The Putins have two daughters: Mariya Putina (born April 28, 1985 in St. Petersburg) and Yekaterina Putina (born August 31, 1986 in Dresden, Germany). The daughters grew up in East Germany and attended the German School in Moscow until Putin's appointment as Prime Minister.
Mariya currently lives with a Dutchman, Jorrit Faassen, at the small village of Voorschoten in the western part of The Netherlands. Some reports say they have been married.
Faassen is said to work for a consulting firm. The couple have no children.
The MH17 shoot down has apparently been traumatic for Mariya since she and her partner have not been seen in public since a Russian surface-to-air missile destroyed the aircraft that was carrying 193 Dutch citizens out of the 298 on board.
Mayor Pieter Broertjes of the neighboring town of Hilversum called for Mariya's deportation after the destruction of MH17. The mayor later apologized, however.
There have been news reports that Yekaterina or Katya plans to marry her longtime boyfriend who is the son of a former South Korean admiral.
Katya's boyfriend is the son of Admiral Yoon Jong-Gu who worked at the South Korean embassy in Moscow in the 1990s.
News reports said Putin was initially against the marriage but had begun to like his prospective son-in-law after meeting him in person.
The alleged groom has denied the marriage rumors but did admit he's known Katya for 10 years.
It's another great story for a Korean TV drama.
