Golden Network Asia Hong Kong has acquired the international rights of martial artist and famed actor Jackie Chan's upcoming action comedy film, "Railroad Tigers."

Railroad Tigers, which has a budget of $50 million, will start production in October this year, with popular filmmaker and screenwriter Ding Sheng on board to direct.

Producers of the movie are excited about the film and remarked that it is reminiscent of the "Rush Hour" actor's extremely hilarious classic comedy movies including the original Drunken Master, Drunken Master II and Project A, but with a larger budget and more impressive action sequences.

Sheng has already teamed up with Chan on several films such as the period action and comedy movie, "Little Big Soldier," and the action crime thriller "Police Story 2013," which was a blockbuster hit raking in more than $100 million at the box office.

Railroad Tigers, which is set in 1941 in China, stars Chan as a simple railroad worker who heads and commands a group of freedom fighters as they use their extensive knowledge of the train network's system to halt Japan's wartime engine and steal some food to give to the hungry Chinese people.

The film is scheduled to hit the theaters in October of 2016, right around the Chinese National Day holidays and is backed by film production companies Shanghai Film Group, Sparkle Roll Media Corp., Shanghai New Culture Media Group, and Beijing Going Zoom Media.

Chan scored a tremendous hit early this year with Daniel Lee's historical action movie "Dragon Blade," which also starred Hollywood actors John Cusack and Adrien Brody, Super Junior's Choi Siwon, and former F4 boy band member, Vanness Wu.

The film earned $130 million in Asia alone and will be screened as one of the first few movies under the new Lionsgate Premiere label.
