Another A-list celebrity joins Amal Clooney's list of admirers! Julia Roberts, one of Clooney's husband's closest friends told Extra's AJ Calloway about her first time meeting the high-profile barrister.

The 47-year old award-winning actress casually said that she met Amal when they went out to dinner. Julia Roberts was probably referencing a recent outing in which she and the couple were spotted together dining at the French restaurant Claudette.

When asked whether her good pal's wife got her approval, Julia Roberts flashed her famous smile and said that George Clooney did not need her approval, as she is "quite enamored of her." She even confirmed that after instantly hitting it off, she is now friends with Amal Clooney.

The trio went out for dinner last month, around the time when Julia Roberts and George Clooney were in New York City filming their new movie, the drama thriller, Money Monster.

Asked about how it was working on the film directed by fellow actress Jodie Foster, "It was amazing," she responded and shared that she and George Clooney were "pinching each other thinking 'How did we end up with this brainiac girl?'"

"It was awesome," she added.

Julia Roberts just recently made her 26^th and final guest appearance on David Letterman's show, "The Late Show with David Letterman" Wednesday and left the host with a big goodbye kiss.

Regarding missing the long-time host, she jokingly said that she's glad she was able to get out of the building without sobbing like a little child. 

She continued to say that Letterman is and will still be a "beautiful person," whom people just won't see every night.

George Clooney, meanwhile, seems to be more in love than ever with his wife whom he tied the knot with in September last year. He described Amal Clooney as "amazing, caring and one of the smartest people" he's ever met. "There's a number of reasons why I fell in love," he gushed.
