Russian Foreign Ministry officials said EU countries have paved the way for their complete exclusion of Russia in international and regional security issues. The officials added that international terrorists will have a field day carrying out attacks should Moscow decide not to get involved in security issues with its neighboring countries.
More Russian officials were included in the sanctions such as the head of Russia’s Federal Security Service and a Department Head tasked to oversee intelligence and international operations. Four more officials who are members of the National Security Council are being targeted by the sanctions.
Russian officials took a swipe against the U.S. after White House Spokesman Josh Ernest said Russia was involved in the downing of Malaysian Airline MH17 flight.
The Russia Foreign Ministry said the U.S. is being guided by lies in its foreign policy as it continues to slander Russia and accuse it of masterminding the plane crash.
Meanwhile, London officials accused Russia of making contradictory claims in blaming Ukraine for the plane crash. They said that “it is highly likely” that the pro-Russia separatists downed the plane with missiles supplied by Russia.
Reports said that Russia has made numerous false claims about the tragedy, blaming Ukraine instead for shooting down MH 17.
