Comic-Con: Daniel Radcliffe Talks "Horns" Film, Post-Harry Potter Career

Daniel Radcliffe has moved on to a darker role in his new film "Horns" based on Joe Hill's fantasy thriller novel and directed by French horror filmmaker Alexandre Aja.

While the former Harry Potter actor has also become known for a couple of adult roles, including his noble hero character in Women in Black, his latest role in Horns may just be his darkest one yet.

Radcliffe's character Ig Perrish grows a pair of demonic horns from out of his own head after his girlfriend (Juno Temple) had been mysteriously murdered.

According to Yahoo Movies, the British actor told the Comic-Con audience that he listened to heavy metal bands Metallica and Megadeth to help him express his character's way of speaking. The site also claimed that the Potter star said he was able to speak in a perfect American accent even at a young age, thanks to his interest in action figures.

The trailer for "Horns" debuted at Comic-Con, and is scheduled to premiere on Halloween.

Aside from his latest film, Radcliffe was also open to fans questioning him and his most popular role as the boy wizard who defeated Voldemort.

Speaking up about his career after Harry Potter, Radcliffe mentioned that he will insist on having "a career after Potter". He also wanted to take on projects that were entirely different from the well-known franchise, including the Broadway play "Equus".

He claimed, "There may have been, and I'm sure there still are, a lot of people who just see me as Harry, but it only takes one director to not".

The actor also added, "And I've been lucky so far in that I've had four or five directors who have taken a chance on me and wanted to see me do something different."

All throughout his role as the main character of the Harry Potter franchise, Radcliffe never came to Comic-Con. Having recently celebrated his 25th birthday last Wednesday, the actor was welcomed to the panel with a "Happy Birthday" sung by 6,000 fans.
