(Photo : Reuters) After a recent string of technical issues Sony reports PSN is back in operation.
As of 9:44 a.m. Pacific (12:44 p.m. Eastern), Sony Entertainment announced that all servers are functioning properly and fixes have been successfully initiated. Over the past few weekends, Sony's Playstation Network (PSN) had been functioning erratically, to the ire of Playstation 3 and 4 players everywhere.

For a few days, particularly since May 11, players have been unable to sign in to their accounts. Those who did gain access were bombarded with management and key feature problems that kept them from playing online anyway. Since the issues began, Sony has suggested workarounds that may yield results, but the company said they were working hard on taking care of the larger issue.
The official playstation Twitter page wrote, "Customers who are having difficulty signing in should restart their consoles and try again [...] We appreciate your patience while we address this."
Unsurprisingly, players all over the world have taken to social media to express their frustration over the technical problems. A post on a playstation Reddit thread, reposted by Gamepur.com, read, "So, PSN has been up and down again all weekend, I dont care about their excuses DDOS, whatever... if I cant play games that I have paid for secondary console or not, then they need to end their policy where it requires PSN to verify the game."
Strangely, a group known as Lizard Squad took credit for the recent stream of PSN outages. Last December, the group distributed a denial-of-service (DDoS) attack on the online network, effectively taking it down for five days. The now-infamous squad also knocked Xbox Live out cold for more than 24 hours.
Whether the recent connectivity and technical problems were a cause of some cyberterrorist group or internal issues with Sony itself, not being able to access their accounts properly had left a bad taste in the gamers' mouths. Nevertheless, players are yet to comment on Sony's latest report of all systems go.
