The music video for "Bad Blood," the newest song from Taylor Swift, was released yesterday at the 2015 Billboard Music Awards. It is star-studded, over the top, and worth four minutes of your life. However, not even a day old, people are already attacking the video for the themes it presents.

The four-minute music video featured a bevy of celebrities, all belonging in the Taylor Swift Corporation, and like a superhero assembly montage, they are seen getting ready to fight. However, Refinery 29 did have a point that the group, led by Catastrophe who is played by the former country crooner, is not preparing to fight corporate America or an indeterminate evil force: the music video was basically a sequence on how to get back at Arsyn, played by the BFF of Swift, Selena Gomez.
Fans should not take this the wrong way though: the video was a visual masterpiece, albeit being a tad bit too short for all the big names attached to it. Fans can revel in the fact that the "Blank Space" singer did all her stunts, which can be confirmed by an Instagram video post that Time pointed out.
The "Bad Blood" music video was hyped up by Taylor Swift nine days prior to the release, posting noir movie-like portraits of all the people involved, from models, actors, to fellow artists; they all sported a name that followed through with their characters in the video.
The song has been openly interpreted as a means for Taylor to throw some shade at Katy Perry, and The Atlantic even continued to interpret the video as a means to bolster the stereotype of ongoing catfights between women to get to the top, which is the complete opposite of the message that they want to dispense.
Whatever way the music video goes, fans will surely continue to watch it and marvel at that awesomeness that is Taylor.
