LG Electronics' new flagship phone, the LG G3, is a powerful handset with a 5.5-inch screen, a 13 megapixel camera and a Kitkat version of the Android operating system.
The cost of the LG G3 varies from free to US$200 with a new contract, depending on the chosen mobile service provider. In the United States, black and white colored handsets are available at all four major carriers, except for Sprint, which offers it in gold and black. On its own, the phone is set to cost around $600.

The screen, dubbed the Quad HD, has a 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution. This is higher than that of the HTC One M8 and Samsung Galaxy S5's resolution of 1080 x 1920 and the iPhone 5s' 1136 x 660.
The Quad HD also has more pixels per square inch. More pixels per square inch equate to a sharper screen image.
The 5.5-inch screen may be too large for some as the balance of the display seems to skew more to size rather than portability. The screen may also be detrimental as it quickly drains power out of the battery.
LG G3's 13-megapixel main camera has a good low light performance but moving subjects, such as rowdy children, will still produce blurry pictures.
The camera, however, does have new features like a laser that accurately measures the distance to the subject and camera, leading to less focusing time. The laser can also sharpen images after the photo has been taken.
The handset lacks physical buttons on the front and sides. The power button and volume rockers are found at the back of the phone.
The phone has the usual PIN or swipe to unlock features but also has a tap-to-wake function. Tapping the sleeping screen twice wakes the device. LG has further improved on the feature where a user can program a specific series of knocks to unlock the handset.
The phone has a microSD slot and a removable battery, improvements over its predecessor, the G2. The microSD slot can expand the device's memory significantly to accommodate more apps, photos and music.
The phone's battery powers less than a day of normal use. An extra battery or charger can be useful to a user who heavily uses the handset.
The phone also sports a standard 2.1-megapixel front camera for group photos and selfies.
