On July 5^th, Shimian, Sichuan Latest news from Emergency Management Office of Shimian County, Yaan, Sichuan states that: Huilong county from Shimian encountered an exceptionally big mud-rock flow in the evening of July 4^th,, 2013. Until now, they have found bodies of nine dead people and there are still 10 people remain unaccounted.

"The first mud-rock flow happened around 7:40 last night, followed by the second, third ...... For the whole life, it is my first time to see such a terrible scene." Facing with the tragedy that home changing into a ruin, Bai Xiaolin, the five-year-old villager from Shilong village, Shimian County, Ya'an, Sichuan, told reporters on July 5^th. Bai Xiaolin, said that the first and second debris flow were not very powerful and officials from village organized everyone quickly left the house and run to another hill after that.

At 20:05, the third mudslides came ferociously. Most houses were instantly destroyed; Livestock and house belongings have been buried by roaring Debris. One of the villagers nearly been washed away by flash floods. Bai Xiaolin told reporters that although the house has gone, fortunately they escaped in time and survived in this disaster.

It is reported that the heavy rains in that evening also caused G108, S211, highways from Shimian to Ganluo, county roads included Shimian to Kowloon and other counties, and many provincial roads interrupted.

After the disaster, responsible people and related official from Ya'an City, Sichuan Province rushed to Shimian, viewing the disaster situation and guiding the disaster relief work. Currently, the search and rescue work is still in progress. More than 4,800 affected people have been settled down and three wounded people have been transferred. The rescue team saved two trapped people. All the affected people are emotionally stable right now and the relocating, searching and verifying work are in an orderly manner. As of press time, they have found nine bodies of victims. The list of victims and missing people has been announced.
