After Josh Duggar, 27, one of the Duggar siblings in the reality TV show "19 Kids and Counting" was accused of child molestation on Thursday, May 21, one might think that TLC would cancel the show altogether. However, in light of the recent allegations, TLC has decided to push on with the show, provoking public outrage with people on Twitter calling the show's marathon, "Nice Timing," "Disgraceful" and "Gross."

Josh Duggar was hit with the allegations Thursday after a police report was spread on the web revealing Duggar to have touched four of his sisters inappropriately, as well as another female who wasn't in their family back in 2002.

Duggar released a statement via Facebook  late Thursday not only denying the child molestation accusations, but also apologizing for his actions.

"Twelve years ago, as a young teenager, I acted inexcusably for which I am extremely sorry and deeply regret. I hurt others, including my family and close friends. I confessed this to my parents who took several steps to help me address the situation," he wrote in his statement in Facebook.

"We spoke with the authorities where I confessed my wrongdoing, and my parents arranged for me and those affected by my actions to receive counseling. I understood that if I continued down this wrong road that I would end up ruining my life," he added.

In-Touch Magazine, which first reported the Duggar case, got a hold of the police report that also said Jim Bob Duggar, the father, waited more than a year before contacting authorities, despite knowing earlier about his son's molestation offenses.

There are still no comments to be heard from parents of "19 Kids and Counting," Jim Bob and Michelle. However, they called the current issue as "one of the most difficult times of our lives" and that they were shocked with the mistakes their son, Josh, had committed, reported Today News.

On Twitter, viewers are concerned and have expressed their discontent over TLC's decision to do a marathon on the show, according to Us Weekly.

According to Fox News, Discovery Communications, which includes channels like TLC, The Discovery Channel, OWN and Animal Planet, has already dealt with quite a couple of child molestation scandals in the past, making the Duggar scandal not entirely new to the network.

Shows with questionable issues with reality stars include TLC's "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," Discovery Channel's "Sons of Guns" and TLC's "Cheer Perfection."

"Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" was canceled after Mama June, the mother in the reality show, continued her relationship with an ex-boyfriend who was jailed for molesting her daughter.

"Sons of Guns" was canceled after star Will Hayden got arrested for raping a minor, who was later identified as her daughter.

In TLC's "Cheer Perfection," one of the mothers in the show was held guilty offirst-degree sexual assault.

TLC made no comments as to whether or not the network found out about Duggar's child molestation allegations before airing the show's marathon.
