'Dragon Ball Super' News: Official Plot Synopsis Revealed New 'God' Villain; 'DBS' Manga Will Launch On July!

Good news to all anime fans as the latest updates for "Dragon Ball Super" have been revealed regarding its plot details, new villain and a Manga continuation.

The official Twitter page of "Dragon Ball Super" revealed the plot synopsis for the anime series and a rough translation was provided, courtesy of Attack of the Fanboy.

“The release of the TV series Dragon Ball Super based on the Akira Toriyama story begins this July. After the meeting with the God of Destruction, Beerus who had awakened from a long sleep, and after Frieza’s resurrection who was once feared as the “emperor of the universe”. An even more mysterious character now comes into play.”

Attack of the Fanboy reportedly claimed that several fans speculated that the new villain of the anime series will be some type of a "God" character, similar to Beerus, and a bigger threat than either Majin Buu or Frieza. Aside from the plot details recently revealed, there is also a manga adaptation of "Dragon Ball Super" that is speculated to launch alongside the anime series on July this year, AnimeNewsNetwork reports.

ShonenGamez has reported that the Manga adaptation will be spearheaded by "Dragon Ball" creator Akira Toriyama and "Dragon Ball: Victory Mission" author Toyotaro. The manga continuation will be published by Japanese publication V-Jump, KpopStarz reports.

"Dragon Ball Super" marks the return of Toriyama's beloved anime series on television since "Dragon Ball GT," which was aired from 1996 to 1997. AnimeNewsNetwork further reports that Toriyama will be credited as the original creator of the series along with its original story and character concepts.

The anime will be produced by Toei Animation as Kimitoshi Chioka will be the series director, while Nozaki, Naoko Sagawa and Atsushi Kido will act as producers of the show.

"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection of Z" was released in Japan last month, and it will eventually be released in 74 countries worldwide. The anime film will premiere in North America on April 11 in Los Angeles hosted by Funimation.

"Dragon Ball Super" will premiere on Fuji TV and other Japanese TV channels in July 2015 on Sundays 9:00 a.m.
