E-commerce giant Amazon just opened its newest store for 3D printed products that has more than 200 3D-printed product listings.

Many of these products can be customized through the site.

Amazon said it offers a wide variety of products that will cater to any 3D printing enthusiast or anyone who wants to own a unique 3D product. The 3D products include jewelry, toys, home decor and even 3D software and equipment, among many others.

Amazon is collaborating with 3D design companies such as Mixee Labs, Sculpteo and 3DLT to encourage online customers to make their own products as opposed to buying them from available stock.

Clement Moreau, CEO and co-founder of Sculpteo, reaffirmed this and said the online customer shopping exerience is further redefined by 3D printing. He noted that 3D printing helps customers imagine what they want in a product and make it a reality.

Petra Schindler-Carter, Director for Amazon Marketplace Sales, said the opening of a 3D Printed Products store is changing the landscape of online retail, providing a more immersive customer expeience.

Schindler-Carter is also excited by the new 3D retailers that offer the public a more dynamic marketplace where customers can personalize their products. 

Terry Wohlers, a 3D printing analyst and consultant, said the store can boost 3D technology across all platforms. 

Wohlers believes that Amazon could be highly beneficial to smaller 3D design and printing companies. He said that more opportunities like these encourage startups and gives them a chance to be exposed to a larger market.

Nancy Yi Liang, co-founder of Mixee Labs, thinks that this partnership with Amazon will greatly boost her company's profile.

She adds that since 3D printing is relatively new, Amazon has already become an integral part of the industry by selling and supporting 3D printing equipment even before the store opened.

Although eBay launched a similar 3D printing service through an app called Exact earlier this month, it only offers 20 customizable products.
