Aria Makes Using A Smartwatch One-Handed A Possibility

(Photo : Aria) The latest smartwatch accessory on the market today is Aria, and it appears to be the most useful yet. Tge device aims to make it possible for users to handle their smartwatch with just one hand.
The smartwatch market is finally taking off due to the release of the Apple Watch; however, handling such a device with one hand is impossible, and that is why Aria was born.
Aria is designed for Android-based smartwatches, where it gives the user the ability to control his/her smartwatch device with just a single hand and a few gestures to boot. The device fits under the smartwatch, which allows it to give users the freedom to control their devices with just a single hand.

Such a device could make for using a smartphone and a smartwatch at the same time since one hand would not be preoccupied with the watch though it is not certain if the gestures are easier to understand than the traditional way of doings things. If it is not, then, changes could definitely be made, said reports.
So far, the gestures are limited, but they are enough to perform everyday tasks. In fact, the current generation of smartwatches are not exactly tough to understand, the current gestures should be good enough for most users.
While the Aria is cool in our eyes, we have a few problems with it. First of all, it requires a smartphone companion app for the gestures to work. Additionally, the Aria does not have its own battery, so it works from the power source of the smartwatch it is attached to.
This is a huge problem since smartwatch battery life usually do not last for a full 24-hour. Unless things change in the future, Aria might not turn out to be a successful product.
For those who are wondering, the Aria comes in two versions. One for Pebble, and another for Android Wear devices. No word at the moment if there will ever be a version for Apple Watch. Maybe it will all come down to the success of version 1 to determine whether or not the designers should closely at the Apple Watch.
At the end of the day, we like the idea, but the fact that it connects to the power source of the smartwatch makes it a no buy.
