Comedienne and half of the comedy team "Stiller & Meara" passed away last Saturday, May 23.

The comedic duo of Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara first appeared in "The Ed Sullivan Show," as Hershey Horowitz and Mary Elizabeth Doyle, which The Hollywood Reporter described as a mismatched pair. Using their polarized point of views, the very Jewish Stiller and the very Catholic Meara would dig into their backgrounds, exaggerate them, and use them as a comedy bit for the show. The two have been married since 1954.

Eventually the two pursued individual career paths, lest they break up. CNN reported that Stiller continues his career in comedy, getting roles in "Seinfield" and "The King of Queens" and even in movie deals like his son Ben Stiller's comedy movie about models, "Zoolander." Anne Meara, on the other hand, became a regular on game shows and landed a role in "Rhonda." She eventually played hundreds of TV roles, sometimes even appearing alongside her husband and children.

Included in their long transcript is a commercial for Blue Nun Wine, which at that time was a big thing for advertisers to use comedy in endorsing a product. Suffice to say, the act worked and made sales for the wine company soar.

After the announcement of her death, condolences from Hollywood surged in via Twitter. The Daily Mail UK grabbed a couple from different actors and actresses that have either worked with her or have been inspired by the late actress. Leah Remini, a co-star in "The King of Queens," tweeted a long and touching condolence to Meara's family. Rosie O'Donnell, on the other hand, shared a photo of them smiling together.

The great comedy actress died of natural causes. She is survived by her husband Jerry Stiller, children Ben Stiller and Amy Stiller, and grandchildren.
