Today marks the official beginning of the Android Auto Invasion as the high-tech system finally found its first home - the 2015 Hyundai Sonata. This is definitely a boon for drivers who became endlessly exasperated whenever they turn on their car's digital navigation system, only to be greeted with a clunky user interface at best and directions to the nearest cliff dive at worst.

For most people, the solution to an unreliable GPS system is simple: to use their phones and tune into more convenient and accessible map applications instead. With the Android Auto Dashboard system, drivers get the best of both worlds: dependable, real-time navigation in the convenience of their car's dashboard.
Hyundai's 2015 Sonata sedan had the honor of being the first vehicle to have this system set up. Starting today, owners of this particular model, who are also Android smartphone users, can now ask dealers to have the navigation system installed in their vehicles.
The system allows drivers to directly connect their smartphones with the car's navigation system, letting them access certain apps like Google Maps or Spotify. As an added bonus for convenience, the system works on voice command, touchscreen graphics, and even steering wheel controls. To keep the users from getting distracted, Android Auto also automatically locks their smartphone while in use.
According to Google, Android Auto will be offered in 28 more car models and makes as soon as the 2016 models begin the manufacturing process. Likewise, Hyundai also assures its car buyers that it is also looking to integrate Apple's CarPlay in the near future.
A review of the Android Auto on Mashable recommends that users make sure that their smartphones are properly updated before attempting to connect it to your 2015 Sonata's system. It touted the advantages of the Google Maps feature in the new Android Auto system, saying that it has the twin benefits of being a more efficient navigation system and a familiar interface.
Aside from GPS, though, Android Auto also connects the user's phone music directly onto the dashboard. The program also optimizes these music with icons and menu bars the driver can easily tap from the comfort of his car seat, without having to strain too much or risk darting eyes off the road.
