Disney has opened its first ever retail store in China on Wednesday, May 23. The store, which is the largest Disney store in the world, is located in Lujiazui, Shanghai.
The Disney store has an impressive 9,257 square feet of shopping space as well as an outside plaza. Paul Candland, Disney's president for the Asia-Pacific region, said that the company is delighted in the inauguration of their first retail store in mainland China, according to Brand Channel.

He described the new facility as a place where people will get to experience the joy of buying their favorite products, including characters from Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars movies and television shows.
The date and time of the opening of Disney's first store in China was carefully planned to coincide with a popular social media code among young people, which is associated with love, according to the official press release. to young customers. Notable attractions in the Shanghai Disney store include a 19 foot high castle and various Marvel character sculptures as well as a roof shaped in the image of Mickey Mouse and well lit by more than 8,000 LED bulbs. Additionally, there is also a magical mirror installed that amuses visitors who stand in front of it.
Meanwhile, Disney has donated $100,000 USD to the Pudong chapter of the Shanghai Charity Foundation to mark the opening of the store. The chairman of The Walt Disney Company, Mr. Stanley Cheung, has said Disney will do what it can to give the local community some "happiness and magic." The money will reportedly be used to help needy families.
