Analysts at IDC, the premier market intelligence firm, predict that the slowdown being experienced in the smartphone market will continue, citing the disappointing figures in the Chinese market, which happens to be the largest smartphone market in the world.

While its position at the top remains intact even this year, thanks to its large customer base, the growth is not as positive as what was expected. The consistent slowdown of the Chinese smartphone market is emerging as a cause of concern by International Data Corporation who published an analysis which states that the smartphone market will continue to dwindle across the globe.

The analysts are also blaming the condition of the Chinese market as one of the causes that has led to this situation. According to USA Today, the analysis by IDC also takes into consideration the developments in the Android Ecosystem.

Though the global smartphone market will experience a certain amount of growth, the overall figures predicted will be much lower than what was experienced in 2014. The analysis says that smartphone shipments will grow by approximately 11 percent this year, which is almost 16 percent less than the growth of 27.6 percent registered in 2014.

However, the condition in Chinese smartphone market will continue to remain critical as Ryan Reith, the program director at IDC, went on to predict that 2015 could be the first year when China's smartphone market figures end up being way behind the global numbers. He also stated that if this happened, it would majorly impact Google Android's mobile operating system, which, according to Techcrunch, will also expected to see a slower growth by 8.5 percent this year.

Just in 2014, the Chinese market accounted for 36 percent of the total volume in this category. The IDC forecast says that while the growth will not be as big as what was assumed, Android will continue to be the leader of the pack with maximum share. Meanwhile, the analysis also claimed that Apple's iOS will retain its 16.4 percent share in 2015, which is expected to dip by 2.4 percent in the next four years.
