Addressing the user concern of remembering different passwords for different apps, Google has announced the Project Vault that will help devices recognize users on the basis of the usage patterns.
At the Google I/O Developers conference this year, the technology giant announced its new project wherein it will empower the devices to identify the users on the basis of their usage patterns, instead of asking them to type passwords at every stage. Explaining the development, a report on Slash Gear says that with this feature, gadgets will be able to authenticate the access of the user not on the basis of what they type instead it will take into account the way they type or touch the screen and use the other features of the phone. This will also include the way in which people move around with their phones, their facial features and a whole lot of other factors that will ultimately add a level of personalization to the entire authentication process.

The technology giant also predicted that a multi-modal system that takes into account many factors is sure to be more effective as well as accurate. Additionally, this security feature is expected to be less intrusive as opposed to the passwords demanding dialogue boxes.
Researchers at Google's ATAP are calling it an attempt to personalize the password and therefore increase the security of the confidential data that people store in their devices. This feature will be able to point even when your phone changes hands.
The report on The Next Web points out that Project Vault is a hardware solution that completely separates itself from the device's files and folders ensuring that at no point the security of the data is threatened. Additionally, Project Vault will be available across various operating systems making it more user-friendly.
Currently, the project is in its early stages of development and the core purpose of this is to increase the security and also ensure that the system data is secure, irrespective of the user's location.
