Chinese Parents Encourage Children To Work Hard Through Luxurious Trips To Villas in Southern China

Super Rich Chinese

(Photo : Reuters) A recently released report revealed that the number of "super rich" individuals in China is increasing.

Chinese parents are bringing their children on field trips to luxury villas so that when the time comes, they will study hard and grow up rich like the owners of the extravagant houses.

On a trip to Guangdong, South China Morning Post reported that more than 300 families toured a Qingyuan villa and resort complex in celebration of International Children's Day on Monday. However, some parents used the opportunity to inspire the youth that was with them to aspire to become rich in the future.

One of the parents present in the trip simply wants his current clothing business to be inherited by his son, and hopefully both will prosper together, since it has been typical for Chinese families to believe that wealth means success.

Another parent was reported to have previously brought one of his sons to different luxury property visits and car shows when he was small. He proudly stated that after graduating from a university, the same son is the manager of his factory.

Majority of these parents rely on the belief that the success of a person is attributed to his/her economic status. Unfortunately, this triggers a wide debate in China, with CRI English News reporting that others believe that the attitude of an individual with regard to life is much more meaningful than the thickness of their wallets.

Although it is true that children need to set their sights high at a young age to become successful, ECNS objects by stating that if a money-worship mindset is established, the overall growth of a person is hindered and more important things will be set aside, such as spending time with the family or helping others.

These "field trips," though hurtful in the long run, can be seen as quick solutions for parents who only want the best for their child. What Chinese parents need to understand is that aspiring to become economically successful is just one aspect of growing up, and as parents, they still have the responsibility of raising their children. Money may seem good now, but even without it, the children should learn essential life lessons from their parents.
